Heath coach promotes getting our lives back in balance

Who said life in retirement had to be sedentary?  We owe it to ourselves to keep active and keep ourselves in the best shape possible.  I should talk? I am the one that spent my youth running around from one sporting activity to another. Then in motherhood I spent my time driving the kids around to get

them from one sporting activity to another.  Now that I have an empty nest I spend my time in front of a computer, driving back and forth from the farm to town and attending a lot of meetings that mainly involve sitting around having meaningful discussions and eating.

My mind is active and I am making contributions to my community and the organizations I belong to but this is definitely not keeping me physically active.  The weight has crept up over the years. The food choices have not changed. The youthful sports I used to participate in kept the body in shape and the bad food habits did not make any difference to me back then.  I don’t seem to receive invitations to come to an outing that involves keeping the body moving.  I take Bruno, the dog, for a walk most days but that lone activity has not kept the weight off.

I seems as though I have picked up more than a few bad habits over the years. It is all to do with food and movement.  How does one get rid of bad habits? Well apparently we have to create some new habits that will take us in the right direction. This will involve rearranging your schedule to make room for the new habits you want to create. I think I will have to get to bed early so I can get up earlier to fit in all the new activities I need to do to create these new habits. This will be quite a challenge as I don’t get home from some meetings until 10 pm.

And for those of you out there that may not be in a position to join a gym and need help well then there is now help available online. You don’t even have to leave home to have a person on your team to help you create and keep you on track to create those new habits that you know you have to do to make a difference in your life. You can now hire a health coach from the comfort on your home or use where ever you may be in the world as long as you have an internet connection.

Julia Chidgey is a health coach and offers her services through her business Active Balance Health Coaching online. Join me as I interview Julia to see how easy and important for us to take a look at our health choices to get our lives back in balance. Having a health coach may just be the secret weapon you need to support you in your quest to get you feeling on top of the world again.

Until next time.
